Ramzy warns Olympic Pharaohs of Sudanese ferocity The Egypt Olympic national team are preparing for the serious clash against Sudan in Khartoum next Saturday to ensure a place in the 2012 London games
The Egyptian Olympic team will start their final training in Sudan on Wednesday as they prepare to meet their Sudanese counterpart this coming Saturday in round 16 of the 2012 London Olympics qualifiers. The young Pharaohs arrived in Sudan on Tuesday but the coaching staff, under the helm of Hany Ramzy, postponed their training to avoid player fatigue after the air trip. Ramzy pointed out to his squad the importance of focusing on the match as Sudan was blown away in a 4-0 defeat - which may make them want to have a strong comeback. “You know how strong the Sudan team is: they eliminated Ghana on Ghana's turf 1-0 and drew in Khartoum,” Hany Ramzy told his players during the pep talk. The medical staff is working hard to rehab injured players, like Ahly's Ramy Rabeia and Enpi's Marawan Mohsen. The Olympic Pharaohs are missing their strong men, Ayman Ashraf, Mostafa Nabil and Ali Ragab who is replaced by Mohamed Bassam, but the coaches trust their 22-man squad, considering they have two players in each position. Egypt are bidding to reach the Olympic Games for the first time since the 1992 tournament in Barcelona.
