Zamalek are not taking anything for granted as they face DR Congo's Sanga Balende on Sunday but they look farther than their unfancied opponents in pursuit of their first African Confederation Cup title. The Cairo giants, who look formidable this term, take on Sanga away from home in the first leg of the competition's round of 16 as they seek to reach the group stage after overcoming Rwanda's Rayon Sports and Morocco's FUS Rabat in the previous rounds. They are overwhelming favouries to advance and they already look forward to keeping the trophy in Cairo after arch-rivals Ahly became the first Egyptian side to win Africa's secondary club competition last year. "We play those matches to win the trophy at the end, this is the ultimate objective. We don't want to just win some matches," Zamalek's left-back Ahmed Samir said on the club's official website. "The match against Sanga is difficult but we are determined to get a good result in the first leg," he added. Zamalek, who are making their first Confederation Cup appearance since the competition's new format was introduced in 2004, are buoyed by an impressive run of form that saw them edge close to winning their first Egyptian Premier League title since 2004. Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira will have an almost fully-fit squad for Sunday's game at Sanga, which is unlikely to be televised due to "technical difficulties", the Cairo club said. "We will be looking to score an early goal and get something from the away leg," said Zamalek's striker Khaled Qamar.
