The 50-year tactician Hossam El Badryhas been in Al-Khartoum since Friday as part of talks with Al-Merreikhclub's President Gamal Al-Waly. A deal is set to be unveiled during a press conference on Sunday night. El-Badry is set to succeed to German tactician Michel Kroger who stepped down as coach of Sudan's Al-Merreikh after losing to reigning champions Al-Hilal. The Egyptian coach will be back to Cairo tomorrow and will return to Sudan by next week to start preparing his team for the upcoming season. El Badry resigned from his position with Ahly two weeks ago after being jeered during Ismaily's 3-1 defeat in day eleven of the Egyptian Premier League. He had a 17-month spell with the Cairo giants, leading them to the League and Super Cup titles.
