Hossam Al-Badri and Manuel Jose might face off as Merrikh want to take on Ahli in a friendly as part of both teams' preparations for their return legs of the Champions League round of 32. According to Sudanese newspaper Koon, Merrikh are seeking to set up the meeting in Khartoum ahead of their game at Angolan side Interclube early next month. On the other hand, Ahli will travel to South Africa's Supersport United, the outfit they beat 2-0 in the first leg. Sudan's Merrikh defeated Interclube by the same scoreline in their previous match. Merrikh coach Al-Badri worked as Jose's assistant at Ahli for five years before the Portuguese tactician parted company with the Red Devils to take charge of Angola. Al-Badri was installed as Ahli's head coach later on but stepped down after failing to keep the team on an even keel. He was appointed at Merrikh shortly afterwards. Jose was back at the Cairo side's helm early this year.
