Egypt winger Mohamed Salah has made his bow for Fiorentina in a 3-2 league home win over Atalanta after coming on as a second-half sub on Sunday. Having signed on a six-month loan deal from English Premier League leaders Chelsea, the 22-year-old Salah did not take so long to make his first appearance for the Serie A side, replacing Joaquin after 65 minutes when the result was tied at 1-1. Salah made an auspicious start though, drifting inside from the right flank on numerous occasions – a performance that earned him praise from manager Vincenzo Montella. "He (Salah) confirmed what I've seen in training, he is unpredictable for opponents, rapid, and bold with the ball," former Italy striker Montella said after the game. "When he has possession, he goes around very well, but still needs to do better without the ball." The win took Fiorentina, who feature in Europe's second-tier competition Europa League, to the fourth place of the Serie A table on 35 points, four adrift of third-placed Napoli.
