Egypt hotel reservations decline 15 per cent after sectarian clashes
Drop in bookings is the latest bad news for a tourism industry already hit by $2.2bn losses since January

"Hotel's reservations in many touristic areas have fallen by 15 per cent due to sectarian clashes in Egypt,"said Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour, the Egyptian minister of tourism, in a press statement.
The minister added that the return of security and law and order to Egyptian streets is the most necessary precondition for the recovery of tourism.
The tourism sector, which contributes 11.3 per cent to the national economy, has lost an estimated US$2.2bn since the 25 January uprising, Abdel-Nour stated.
