The Egyptian Football Association decided on Monday to suspend Ahly's new signing Moemen Zakareya and Zamalek duo Maarouf Youssef and Khaled Qamar for one month, ending speculations regarding the players' fate. The three players were accused by the Cairo rivals of signing for two clubs at the same time, leading to a fresh battle between Egypt's most successful outfits. Zakareya was hit with a LE 250,000 fine, while Youssef was ordered to pay LE 120,000 and Qamar LE 150,000. Zakareya made a surprise move to Ahly last week after Zamalek failed to make his loan deal permanent. He had left his parent club ENPPI to join Ahly on a five-year deal after ending an 18-month spell with Zamalek, where he scored seven goals in the Egyptian League to lie on top of the team's scorers chart after 15 matches. Zamalek filed a complaint against the player, claiming that he had already penned a deal with them before making a move to Ahly. Ahly launched a similar complaint against Zamalek's duo Maarouf Youssef of Nigeria and striker Khaled Qamar, who both joined the White Knights from Ittihad El-Shorta last summer. The ban starts from 8 January and Zakareya will therefore miss his side's five upcoming clashes including the Cairo derby against Zamalek and a tough clash against second-placed ENPPI. The Zamalek duo will miss the Cairo derby and the Zamalek game against rocky El-Nasr.
