Egyptian striker Ahmed 'Koka' Hassan maintained his superb goal-scoring run to help Rio Ave reach the Portuguese Cup last 16 following a 2-0 win over UD Oliveirense on Saturday. The 21-year-old, who joined Rio Ave as a youngster in early 2012, came on as a substitute one minute past the hour mark and wrapped up his side's victory with a 77th-minute goal after Diego Lopes had put them ahead two minutes earlier. He takes his goal tally this season to eight goals in all competitions, including six in as many Portuguese league appearances. Koka made 3 international appearances with Egypt's senior team, scoring once. The Pharaohs' outgoing coach Shawky Gharib was criticized for snubbing him in the final qualifying matches as the team failed to reach the African Cup of Nations for the third time in row.
