A bomb at a security checkpoint killed seven army conscripts and injured 20 others in the North Sinai city of Sheikh Zuwaid on Friday, reported Al-Ahram's Arabic news website. Al-Ahram's correspondent in North Sinai described the bomb as a car bomb that exploded at a security checkpoint. Ambulances are still waiting to enter the area as security forces search the area for other explosives. A militant insurgency by jihadist groups in Sinai has become more active since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013. Hundreds of police and army officers and personnel as well as militants were killed in militant bombings and attacks since Morsi's ouster. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/113857.aspx
