El-Hadary rules out Al-Merreikh move Egypt and Zamalek goal-stopper Essam El-Hadary has dismissed reports that he might join Sudanese side Al-Merreikh.
“I didn't travel to Sudan to join Al-Merreikh as the press claimed today, and I didn't have any contacts with them,” Zamalek's 37-year old keeper was said in a statement posted on his website. “I finished my training session today and went to watch the Arab Contractors-Masry game at the stadium," he added. Africa's best keeper is serving a four-month ban after a breach of contract with former team Ahly in 2008. El-Hadary had a short stint with Swiss side Sion before returning to Egypt to join Ismaily and then Zamalek. But a rift with coach Hossam Hassan is reported, with the likelihood that El-Hadary will move on in January.
