Ghana's Gyan says Black Stars must forget Kwesi Appiah's departure

The Black Stars skipper wants players to recover quickly from the shock of the departure of coach Kwesi Appiah

Ghana's striker Asamoah Gyan said on Monday that the Black Stars must move on from the "shocking" departure of coach Kwesi Appiah.
Appiah, who has worked with the Black Stars in the last six years, was fired from his post last month.
Gyan revealed that Appiah's departure was a shock for most of the players, who were hurt by the decision, but he insisted the players must move on.
"Coach Akwesi Appiah is a very good coach who worked with us for a very long time," Gyan told Ghanasoccernet on Monday.
"His departure shocked most of the players, but that's football for you.
"There is no coach that will handle a team for the rest of his career or for the rest of his lifetime.
"If you look at the team now, most of the players were handed their first call up by Appiah, so definitely they will be hurt.
"But being professionals, we know how the game goes, so we have to just move on and do our best for Ghana. He is a great man."
Ghana are leading Group E in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with five points, one point ahead of second placed Uganda.
