Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah insists that there is no player that has a guaranteed place in the Black Stars finals squad for the coming African Nations Cup in South Africa. Ghanaian team figures like skipper Asamoah Gyan, Ayew brothers and Kwadwo Asamoah, were not included in Wednesday's friendly against Cape Verde, while newcomers like Inter Milan's Joseph Alfred Duncan and Maritiburg United defender Awal Mohammed were in. Despite recent claims that the team stars have already booked their place in the prestigious continental tournament for January, Appiah has another point of view. "It is not whether someone is going to the Cup of Nations or not. There are some players that I need to take final decisions on," Ghanasoccernet quoted Appiah on Wednesday. "As to those not called are guaranteed places in the team is not correct. Everyone has got a chance to go," he added. Ghana is seeking its first African title in 31 years and commitment give players a huge boost to fulfill that dream. "The important thing is to look at those who are really commited to fight for Ghana. I will be looking at disciplinary aspects as well," explained Appiah. "I believe anyone chosen to play in either friendly or competitive match must prove their worth so that I can make the right decision," he concluded. Ghana will compete in the African tournament in group B alongside DR Congo, Mali and Niger.
