Nigeria's coach uncertain about his fate with the Super Eagles The Nigerian coach is unsure about his future with the Super Eagles after their disappointing start at the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
Nigeria coach Stephan Keshi said on Thursday he is uncertain about his future with his country's national team as he hasn't yet renewed his contract with the Nigerian football association (NFA). Keshi's contract expired after the end of the World Cup where the Super Eagles were eliminated from the round of 16 and he reached an agreement with the(NFA) to take charge of the team during their first two games in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers – but Nigeria's poor results in the two games made his fate with the Super Eagles uncertain. The African Champions slumped to a 3-2 home defeat against Congo last Saturday, their first home defeat in 33 years, before being held to a goalless draw by South Africa in Cape Town on Wednesday. "I'm not sure yet. I was just brought in to help manage these two games," Keshi told Kickoff Nigeria on Thursday. "We have finished them now, so we'll see what happens. If we (he and the Nigerian federation) come to an agreement, yes I'll stay. If no, I'll depart. Let's see how it turns out when I get home," he added. Nigeria are third in group A with just one point, five points behind group leaders Congo.
