Zambia coach Janza 'shocked' by Cape Verde defeat Janza demands players' full concentration and technical discipline after their winless run in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
Zambia coach Honor Janza has described his side's 2-1 defeat by Cape Verde Islands as "a shock" in the second round of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. "It was a shocking result. I think we dominated them and the three points we lost here were vital for us," the tactician said after Wednesday's match at the National Stadium in Praia. "But we should not look back. We still have four more matches to play and they will be crucial for our qualification for Morocco 2015. Following the loss here we must consider ourselves lucky that Mozambique and Niger played out a draw," he added. Zambia collected one point Saturday, with one point separating them with Mozambique (two draws), while Cape Verde lead Group F with the full mark, leaving Niger at the bottom with a solitary point. "This is a wake-up call for us because we cannot rely on results from other matches to remain in contention; no one is going to make us qualify but ourselves. Our players need 100 percent concentration throughout the 90 minutes. Every player must be disciplined tactically and technically," Janza concluded.
