New Algeria coach, Christian Gourcuff expressed satisfaction after Algeria bested Ethiopia away 2-1 in their first qualifier to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. "I am very glad I got an important win in my first game in charge of Algeria. It was a tough game as our opponents took advantage of being hosts and really pushed us to the last minute but I am happy we managed to get an important win," the 59-year-old tactician was quoted as saying on Super Sport. "We will take each game as it comes and it was important to begin on a positive note as we await Mali on Wednesday," "The toughest game [of their group] was against Ethiopia since they had a good run last year and they have been motivated, but after winning today I think we have a very good chance against both Mali and Malawi," added the Frenchman who took charge of the Desert Foxes in early August after succeeding Vahid Halilhodzic. In Group B, Mali and Malawi are playing Sunday after the match was delayed one day due to heavy rain. The North African team, had an impressive World Cup campaign this summer before exiting at the hands of eventual champions Germany in the knockout stages.
