RELIVE: Senegal vs Egypt (2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers)
Ahram Online provided a live coverage of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers group stage game between Senegal and Egypt in Group G on Friday
Published in Ahram Online on 06 - 09 - 2014

Second half: Senegal2-0 Egypt
90+3' the referee blows the final whistle, it's Egypt 0-2 Senegal, let's hope the Egyptians would make up for the defeat against Tunisia at home in five days' time.
90' Curiously enough, Senegal are the side who are retaining the ball and winning corners in the final minutes despite being on a two-goal lead!
84' Koka superbly played in but lacked the requisite pace to latch onto the ball as the keeper rushes out to clear the danger. The lack of pace proved problematic for Egypt tonight.
82' Gamal has a penalty shout waved away by the referee after the Egyptian was pulled down inside the box.
81' Ahmed Hassan 'Koka' is wheeled on instead of Kamar.
79' Moussa Sow substitutes N'Doye for Senegal's second change.
75' Diame plays a cross-cum-shot but keeper Ekrami gathers the ball.
72' The introduction of Gamal and Emam improved the Egyptians' performance but the visitors have yet to pose genuine threat on goal.
69' Senegal make their first change of the game, with Diame replacing Diouf.
67' Ouka gets into the referee's book after tackling an almost through-on-goal Mane before the halfway line.
64' Emam injected much-needed life into the right flank after his introduction, with his pace and futsal skills.
60' Hazem Emam comes in for Hull City's Elmohamady.
60' Salah plays the free kick high over the bar..the Chelsea man looks indeed in need of playing time..
59' The first yellow card is handed toDjilobodji
58' Free kick for Egypt after Kamar was brought down during a long ball from the back..
56' Hossam Ghaly looks out of sorts tonight, failing to connect properly with his teammates on several occasion..
53' Salah squanders two glorious chances in the space of a minute!! the first when he went through on goal but took time on the ball, before another chance saw him chip the ball wide after being played in by Elneny.
51' In what could be the first chance of the second half, Khaled Kamar receives latches onto a Salah through ball but the former's cross-cum-shot eventually misses the target.
46' Egypt manager Gharib replaced the off-form Hamoudi with Amr Gamal to play with two out-and-out strikers.
The second half begins...
45+1 The referee blows the whistle ending the first half,
45' A carbon copy of the first goal, with Mane running in behind the defense to break clear and dink the ball past keeper Ekrami.
45' GOAL! Senegal make it two through Mane
44' Salah flagged for offside after latching onto a Hamoudi through ball..
40' Play is mainly restricted to midfield with neither side pouring forward.
33' The Egyptian side looked to have lost some confidence after the goal they conceded, they appeared much better by the start of the game.
27' Elmohamady wins a foul inside his own half after doing well to retain possession.
24' Ouka could have been dispossessed near his own box while being too sluggish on the ball..
23' Egypt have been controlling during those past few minutes, but yet to show real intent to equalize.
18' GOAL! Senegal take the lead through Diouf who latched onto a fine through pass tp go one on one with Ekrami and beat the keeper.
17' A GREAT SAVE!!! Ekrami denies N'Doye strike after Fathi was robbed off the ball infront of the box.
15' Elneny is fouled near the halfway line after dribbling past an opponent, the Basel man is doing well so far..
12' What's really positive about the visitors is that they are pressing their opponents' backline from early on.
10' Hamoudi sends in a cross from the left but Kamar fails to control the ball well inside the box, for sure he could have made much better than that!
9' Natural right-back Ahmed Fathi starts today on the left, no wonder Elmohamady is more active on the other flank up untill now
6' The first corner of the match for the hosts, but keeper Ekrami easily gathers the ensuing header.
5' Egypt keeping the ball during those few minutes...
2' Despite such a defensive starting line up, yet Egypt are pressing high up the pitch and are not sitting deep.
The match gets underway...
Lineups:
Senegal: Condoul, Badji, Mbodj, L Sane, Djilobodji, Souare Kouyate, Gueye, S Mane, M Diouf, N'Doye.
Egypt: Sherif Ekramy, Shawki El-Saied, Ali Ghazal, Ahmed Saied 'Ouka', Ahmed Elmohamady, Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Elneny, Hossam Ghaly, Mohamed Salah, Ahmed Hamoudi, Khaled Kamar.
22:58 Both national anthems have just been played, just few minutes into kick-off!
22:55 The match is due to start in five minutes time.
22:45 Sporting winger Shikabala alongside Ahly striker Gamal have been ommitted from the 18-man squad for the game.
22:35 Egypt's starting XI suggests manager Gharib is going to park the bus away from home, yet the team's game strategy remains to be known.
22:05 Egypt will be releived to see former Chelsea striker Demba Ba out of the game due to injury, but the Pharaohs' rearguard will be facing an uphill task to keep Stoke City hitman Mame Diouf at bay.
21:50 The right-back role whether will be occupied by Ahmed Fathi or Ahmed Elmohamady remains to be seen, while Ahly full-back Sabri Rahil is almost certain to start on the left following Mohamed Abdel-Shafy's injury.
21:45 Should Gharib use a three-man defense, Aly Ghazal, Ahmed Saied 'Ouka' and Fiorentina's Ahmed Hegazi would all feature.
21:30 But there's also Ahly and Ismaily veterans Hossam Ghaly and Hosni Abd-Rabou who could well fill in the center of the park.
21:15 As to the defensive midfield, Mohamed Elneny looks to have the most chance to start for Egypt - given that he is a regular for Swiss side Basel.
21:00 Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah is almost certain to start tonight despite not playing in his side's three opening league games, as Sporting Lisbon's Shikabala is also available.
20:50 Rio Ave striker Ahmed Hassan 'Koka' could also feature in the frontline following a brilliant start to the Portuguese league season, which saw him bag a hat-trick in a 5-1 win over Estoril.
20:25 Young Ahly frontman Amr Gamal, who has been declared fit for the game after suffering flu, could also spearhead the team's attack following his goal against Kenya in a 1-0 home friendly win last Saturday.
20:20Following the retirement of star Mohamed Abou-Treika, lack of fitness of Emad Meteb and dip in form of ex-Wigan striker Amr Zaki - Shawki will most probably turn to Zamalek new-summer signing Khaled Kamar upfront.
20:00 Egypt manager Shawki Gharib, appointed in November last year, will be forced to field an internationally-inexperienced or a young striker due to the retirement and the dip in form of some veterans.
19:40 Despite such a tough group, Egypt have a formidable chance to make it to CAN 2015 in Morocco - given that the winners and runners-up of each group qualify for the biennial competition,
19:20The Pharaohs were drawn in a crunch qualifying Group G, including also North African rivals - and Botswana.
19:00Egypt take on Senegal with the aim of restoring their lost pride after astonishingly failing to reach the last two African Cup of Nations editions; a tournament they won a record seven times.
Venue: Stade Leopold Sedar Senghor (Dakar)
Referee: K. Coulibaly (Mali)
