Israel pipeline bombers are not locals: North Sinai security chief Security chief of North Sinai doesn't believe residents of the peninsula were behind the 2nd recent Egypt-Israel pipeline bombing
In a discussion over Facebook, Saleh El-Masry, security chief of North Sinai, says he doesn't believe that residents of the peninsula were behind the pipeline bombing on Wednesday. Unknown saboteurs blew up the pipeline that runs through North Sinai at the crack of dawn, an incident that is widely expected to escalate tensions between Egypt and Israel. Some people are convinced the culprits are locals who executed the attack because they are at odds with the government. On a Facebook page called “Soot Sinai,” or the voice of Sinai, El-Masry said: “No way are the sons of Sinai responsible for the incident. Investigations are still underway to reveal the real identity of the perpetrators.” He also called on the youth of Sinai to fight for the resurrection of their land like their parents fought to liberate it. Replying to people who voiced fear over security measures, El-Masry called on everyone to cooperate with the police these days. “Police patrols will secure the streets and any wrongdoing will be dealt with,” he stated.
