Man arrested on suspicion of violently assaulting George Galloway
The British Police arrest a man in connection to a violent attack on George Galloway MP

The British Police have arrested a man on suspicion of a violent attack on George Galloway, the controversial British Member of Parliament and politician.
Galloway suffered a possible broken jaw when he was violently assaulted in London.
Aharm Online contacted a source close to Galloway who confirmed that the Respect Party MP left the hospital Saturday morning after receiving treatment to his jaw, and for "severe bruising to his head, and for a suspected broken rib.”
A man was arrested soon after the attack, the British Police said.
A police spokesman said: "Police were called at approximately 19:40 hours (Friday night) to Golborne Road, W10, after a man was assaulted in the street. Officers attended. The suspect was found a short time later and stopped.”
The suspect was arrested “on suspicion of actual body harm (ABH) and taken to the South London Police Station where he remains," the spokesman said.
The spokesman added that the motivation for the attack remained unclear.
According to Galloway's spokesman, the MP was attacked in Notting Hill, central London, by a man who shouted a remark about the Holocaust before punching the MP.
"It appears to be connected with his comments about Israel, because the guy was shouting about the Holocaust,” he was quoted as saying.
"George was posing for pictures with people and this guy just attacked him, leapt on him and started punching him,” the spokesman said.
Galloway is well-known as being a strong supporter of Palestine and an anti-Israel activist.
Two years ago, Galloway described Zionism as "blasphemy against Judaism and against God" while he praised the Palestinian Movement of Islamic Resistance, Hamas.
Galloway was interviewed last month by the police after he made a speech in Leeds in which he said Bradford was an “Israel-free zone” where Israeli tourists were unwelcome.
