CAF punish Rwanda in 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
Confederation of African Football punishes Rwanda, suspends AS Vita Club's palyer Etekiama Agiti Tady / Birori Dady until further notice

The Organising Committee of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations decided on Sunday to disqualify Rwanda from the tournament's qualifiers, replacing them with Congo.
According to the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) official website, the decision followed a protest made by the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT) during the first leg match of the second round of qualifying played against Rwanda on 20 July in Pointe-Noire, Congo's second-largest city.
"The protest by Congo contested the eligibility of the player Birori Dady aligned with Rwanda, [who] plays for the AS Vita Club of Kinshasa with a Congolese (DRC) passport as Etekiama Agiti Tady, and with a different age," CAF declared in a statement.
"Following investigations by CAF and on the basis of documents provided by the federations of Rwanda, Congo and DR Congo, and hearing the player's testimony on 11 August 2014 at CAF headquarters in Cairo, CAF established that the two identities only referred to a single person," the statement added.
Based on the investigation and other findings, the Organising Committee decided as follows:
1. Immediately suspend the player Etekiama Agiti Tady / Birori Dady until further notice and ban him from playing for the club and national team.
2. Rwanda are to be declared losers of their game against Congo, and consequently be eliminated from the competition.
3. Consign Congo to the group phase of the qualifiers of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2015 in Group A, as a replacement for Rwanda.
4. Reserve the right to confirm the exact length of the player's suspension and to impose additional sanctions if necessary at the next meeting of the Organising Committee scheduled for 17 September 2014.
5. Urge players and stakeholders to regulate the situation of dual identity.
On Friday night, Cairo giants Zamalek filed a complaint with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) against Congolese side AS Vita Club.
Zamalek's hopes of reaching the African Champions League semis were dashed after losing to AS Vita Club 1-0 in the fourth round of the group stage in Alexandria last Sunday.
The victory sealed AS Vita Club's qualification alongside fellow countrymen TP Mazembe with a match still to go.
Zamalek's management asked the CAF to exclude Vita Club from the prestigious Champions league as a result of the Etekiama case.
CAF is yet to give its final word on Vita Club's situation.
