Lionel Messi won the Golden Boot award for the World Cup best player despite being on the losing side as Argentina slumped to a 1-0 defeat by Germany in the tournament's final on Sunday.
The Barcelona wizard scored four goals to lead Argentina to their first World Cup final in 24 years but he was guilty of some glaring misses as his side lost to Germany after extra time, thanks to a superb strike from Mario Goetze.
Germany's Manuel Neuer was named the best keeper after putting in some impressive displays throughout the tournament, thwarting many goal-scoring opportunities and making up for defensive blunders by repeatedly charging out of the box to clear the danger.
The Mannschaft, who won the World Cup for the fourth time, conceded just goals in the 2014 edition in Brazil.
Colombia's playmaker James Rodriguez finished as the World Cup top scorer with six goals.
