Egyptian Football Association (EFA) holds to its earlier decision for a mid-September kick off, despite calls from Pharoahs' coach for an earlier start

The Egyptian Premier League's 2014-2015 season will kick off on 14 September, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Sunday.
The announcement came after a meeting with EFA board members, under the leadership of Gamal Allam, and the team manager of the Egyptian national team, Shawky Gharib.
Last week, Gharib called for an earlier start to the coming domestic season, citing the Pharaohs' match against Senegal on 6 September in the qualifiers for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
However, Sunday's meeting, attended by the EFA's competition committee manager Amr Hussein, ended with the earlier decision to start the season in mid-September.
The current season – exceptional in that it has been held behind closed doors and in a two-group format – will end on Monday with Ahly meeting Smouha in a winner decider, while Zamalek play Petrojet for third place.
