Three men detained on Tahrir sexual harassment charges
Men charged with alleged assault of a woman and her daughter on 3 June in Tahrir Square for celebrations marking Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's presidential victory

Egypt's Prosecutor-General Hisham Barakat has ordered three men to be detained for four days, pending investigations, on charges of sexual harassment during recent celebrations for the country's newly-elected President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
The men – aged 27, 19 and 16 – are accused of sexually assaulting a woman and her daughter in Tahrir Square while celebrating the official announcement of El-Sisi's victory on 3 June.
Sunday also saw several cases of mass sexual harassment in Tahrir Square, with a video showing what appears to be a naked women being attacked by a mob causing outrage across Egyptian media and social networking sites.
A statement from the prosecutor-general said that Sunday's incidents are being investigated.
Sexual harassment against women has become a rampant problem in Egypt. A United Nations survey from last year suggests that over 99 percent of Egyptian women have suffered some form of sexual harassment, from minor incidents to rape.
A recent law – the first of its kind – against sexual harassment was passed by Egypt's former interim president Adly Mansour on Wednesday. It imposes harsh punishments on sexual harassers, including a minimum of six months in prison and hefty fines.
