Microphone, a docudrama set in Alexandria about artists and musicians wins its fourth prize in Turkey and will be screened again for Egyptian audiences in the French Cultural Centre on 20 April Microphone wins the Golden Tulip Award in the Istanbul film festival that ended on 16 April. The Egyptian docudrama, Microphone, has already won three awards, The Golden Tanit at the Carthage film festival, the award for best Arab Film at the Cairo International Film Festival and the award for best editing by Hisham Saqr at the Dubai Film Festival. The docudrama is set in Alexandria and follows a number of rebellious artists as they search for any means to create their art. With a fast-moving camera it portrays skateboarders, graffiti artists, underground musicians as well as independent filmmaker and shows the restraints they face on a daily basis and how they overcome them. Microphone will be screened at the French Cultural Centre as part of the Recontres de L'image film festival on 20 April at 6pm.
