Officer killed, 2 conscripts injured in Egypt's North Sinai Unknown assailants attack Central Security Forces patrol stationed south of the Rafah border crossing in Egypt's Sinai
An officer of Egypt's Central Security Forces was killed and two conscripts injured in an attack by unknown assailants on Thursday night. A security source in North Sinai told Al-Ahram's Arabic news website that the unknown assailants attacked the patrol assigned to guard a border checkpoint south of the Rafah crossing then fled the scene. Lieutenant Ramy El-Galaly, 28-years-old, died of gunshot wounds after he was transferred to the military hospital. Two CSF conscripts were also injured. Since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi on 3 July 2013, attacks against police and army forces have spiked – especially in the North Sinai Governorate – leaving hundreds of officers and soldiers injured and killed. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/102019.aspx
