I ran for Egypt president to save the state, says El-Sisi

Presidential hopeful Abdel Fattah El-Sisi told interviewers Lamis El-Hadidi (CBC TV) and Ibrahim Issa (ONTV) that he decided to run for president when he detected an effort to "destroy the state" forcing him to heed the calls of the people.
This is El-Sisi's first ever TV interview after decades as an officer in the army, head of military intelligence and defence minister.
