Petrojet and Ismaily could only play out draws with Masri and Haras El-Hodoud respectively, while Ittihad El-Shorta managed to beat Qanah to blow the Egyptian League Group B qualification race wide open. League leaders Petrojet failed to further cement their position at the top of the table after coming back from behind to salvage a late 1-1 draw with visitors Masri. Midfielder Ashour El-Adham gave mid-tablers Masri the lead in the 19th minute before Saied Kamal struck deep into stoppage time to save a much-needed point for the petroleum side. Despite the draw, Petrojet still top the group on 34 points, with only one match remaining with rivals Ismaily. In Alexandria, a nervy match between Haras El-Hodoud and Ismaily witnessed four red cards as the Dervishes failed to overcome their eight-man opponents, who held them to a goalless stalemate. Hodoud's Mahmoud Alaa, Ali Mohab and Islam Ramadan all saw red as Ismaily's Ghanaian marksman John Antwi received his marching orders after an off-the-pitch scuffle with Hodoud's Ahmed Sabry. The draw did not help Ismaily much, though, as they slipped to third place on 30 points, two clear of Zamalek, who take on Beni Suef Telephones later in the day. Elsewhere, Ittihad El-Shorta showed they are not determined to give up on their qualification chances after thrashing Qanah 3-0 away from home. Second-half goals from Mostafa Refaat, Ahmed Dwedar and Saied Mourad gave Shorta a precious win to climb to the second spot with 32 points, just two adrift of leaders Petrojet. The winners and runners-up of Group A and B book places in the final four-team mini-league phase, which will determine the eventual champion of the 2013-04 league season. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/100563.aspx
