Chelsea boss criticises Egypt's Salah Jose Mourinho is unhappy with Mohamed Salah and other players after Chelsea's goalless draw with Norwich City severely dented their title hopes
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has criticised Egypt forward Mohamed Salah after their 0-0 draw with Norwich City. The Daily Mail reported that Mourinho had condemned a number of players, including Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah, for their shocking performances in the first half. The British newspaper also claimed that Mourinho had told Salah to return for pre-season training "ready to be a footballer." The former Basel forward, who joined Chelsea on a five-and-a-half year contract last winter, has made five appearances in the team's starting lineup this season. The 21-year-old star, who has scored two goals so far, was included in the starting lineup for the Norwich clash before being replaced by Eden Hazard at half time. Chelsea's title hopes appear to have vanished after the draw saw them drop to third in the table with 79 points. "We had one team that needed three points to have a chance to survive, but didn't play to win, and a team that needed a point to finish third and guarantee a Champions League group stage place that played to win," said Mourinho.
