Fans attendance sparks Zamalek outrage after Ismaily defeat Zamalek ask for the points of the game against Ismaily but the Dervish reveal agreement for fans attendance
Zamalek coach Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam has asked The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) competition committee to attribute him the points of the game against Ismaily after the latter's fans fans broke the crowed ban. All of Egypt's Premier League matches have been forced to take place behind closed doors due to security concerns following the army's ouster of president Mohamed Morsi amid mass protests on 3 July. Mido asked the EFA to apply the same measures as they did with Zamalek earlier this season. In January, the competition's committee declared Zamalek losers after some of the Whites' fans defied a crowd ban and appeared with flares in the stands, forcing the referee to halt play for a few seconds. Some Ismaily fans attended the game during the 1-0 win over Zamalek on Thursday. Zamalek's Egyptian Premier League title hopes were dealt a significant blow after suffering a 1-0 away loss to Group B rivals Ismaily, thanks to a horrific blunder by Egypt keeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed. A confrontation occurred between Ismaily and Zamalek coaching staffs after the goal. "Ismaily should be declared losers after fans attended the game despite the crowd ban as the EFA did with us against Haras El-Hodoud," Zamalek coach Mido told the game's post press conference before leaving the event. "I thank Mr. Ricardo (Ismaily coach) but I won't answer any questions, thank you." Mido said before leaving the press conference. Zamalek are fourth in the Group B table with 28 points, five behind leaders Petrojet. The winners and runners-up in both Groups A and B will qualify for the mini-league to decide the league champion. Fans attend after agreement From his side, Ismaily spokesman Alaa Wahid revealed that both sides' had reached an agreement prior to the match permitting minimal fans' attendance. "Zamalek and Ismaily agreed to allow a small number of supporters to attent the game, so they don't have the right to complain about it," Wahid told a television programme after the game. "Some of Zamalek's fans also attended the game and we have proof of this," he added. "This minimal presence of the fans didn't affect the course of the game as we were much better and deserved the victory," The Ismaily spokesman concluded.
