Zamalek coach focuses on Ismaily clash
Happy with the 4-0 win over Qanah, Zamalek coach Mido asks players to concentrate on the upcoming crucial game against Ismaily
Published in Ahram Online on 28 - 04 - 2014

Following the 4-0 rout over Qanah in the 19th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League, Zamalek coach Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam said he was pleased with the players' performance during the game, believing they managed to transcend the mood of defeat and enter the sphere of victory.
Zamalek had lost 4-2 to Petrojet a week ago in the league's 18th matchday, but "We managed to forget the loss," the coach told the press conference on Sunday after the Qanah win, which moves the Whites a step closer towards the Egyptian Premier League's final phase.
Mohamed Ibrahim and Mahmoud Fathallah scored twice in the first half, with Moustafa Fathi and Omar Gaber each delivering in the second, to grant the Whites three precious points in their battle to qualify for the semi-final.
"I told Zamalek's players we must win the league's remaining five games to book a place in the semi-final," Mido added.
Zamalek moved to third place in Group B with 28 points, five behind leaders Petrojet, who lost 3-2 to second-place Ittihad El-Shorta on Sunday.
Zamalek contest Ismaily for semi-final spot
Zamalek are set to face Ismaily in the postponed game from the 14th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
Ismaily are fourth in the Group B teams' table with 27 points, one behind rivals Zamalek who are third.
The Cairo giants lost their home game to Ismaily 1-0 in the first round of the league.
"The Ismaily match is very important and we have to get the three points of the game to save a place in the semi-final," Mido said.
The winner and runner-up in each group of the Egyptian Premier League will qualify for the semi-final.
