CAIRO: German Institute for Antiquities in Cairo dedicated 40 training scholarships for workers at the Supreme Council of Antiquities in different archaeological specialties. The scholarships aim to train workers and specialists in the council on the latest methods in the field of archeological work, in order to learn new artistic skills. SCA General Secretariat Mostafa Amin said these scholarships are a prelude to cooperation between the council and the German Institute for Antiquities. He said the scholarships will benefit the field of maintaining Egyptian antiquities, either by documentation, restoration or archaeological findings which add historical facts to the ancient Egyptian civilization. During his meeting on Monday, December 5, Amin said he discussed with Stefan Zaadelmer the ways of archeological cooperation between both sides during the coming phase in the fields of excavation and protecting and managing archeological sites. Zaadelmer informed Amin about the German activities implemented in Egypt in the field of excavations. Zaadelmer said that the institute is ready to enhance the efforts during the coming period, including the development of cooperation in the field of training and rehabilitation for the workers in the field of archeology.
