NDP candidate gets close post-revolution parliament

CAIRO: Egyptian activists are circulating a video on Facebook and Twitter of former National Democratic Party member and supporter of Gamal Mubarak Ayman Taha.
The video claims that Taha, who joined the Egyptian Bloc following the January 25 Revolution, is close to winning in the recent parliamentary elections.
Taha was an NDP candidate in the 2010 People's Assembly.
The Egyptian Bloc nominated Taha as the second candidate on its list. The list received 72 votes in the first phase of the elections, meaning that Taha could be the first former NDP member elected to parliament.
