CAIRO: Secretary of the Freedom Party Moataz Mohamed Mahmoud said the party filed a complaint to the Supreme Electoral Committee in Fayoum on Friday, calling for a ballot recount due to confusion of voters between their name and the Freedom and Justice Party. Mahmoud said the party called for the recount for several reasons. Firstly, how cramped the space for counting votes was and secondly, due to ballot counters being tired after 24 continuous hours of work. He also stated no representative of the party was allowed to attend the ballot counting, despite other party representatives being allowed. He said the Freedom Party also calls for a recount in Red Sea and Luxor constituencies, which witnessed similar problems to Fayoum. He added that if the request is rejected, the party will resort to the Administrative Judiciary to halt the election's results in the three governorates.
