CAIRO: The salvation government's priority is reclaiming security and operation of the production movement, said Egyptian Prime Minister designate Kamal el-Ganzouri on Thursady. The Egyptian pound's value is a fifth of its value 15 years ago, which shows the efforts needed for the Egyptian economy, he added. In a press conference, el-Ganzouri said there will be a Ministry for Investment and Business sector, adding that ministries in his new government will aim to satisfy public interests. Regarding the news he will be Egyptian minister of finance beside his post of being Prime Minister, al-Ganzouri said he did not want to be in charge of any ministries. He added he did not aim to take control over authority when he was a minister during the former regime, and lots of people conspired against Egypt rather than conspired against him. There are eight to 10 ministers resuming their posts from Prime Minister Essam Sharaf's cabinet, al-Ganzouri noted. There is no civil minister for the Interior Ministry because the status quo doe not allow this to happen, el—Ganzouri said. Regarding the powers authorizing him to amend item 10 of articles 56 and 57 of the Constitutional Declaration, he said the amendments will be announced before forming the new government. He added that he has full authority and the ruling military council has its authorities. Two women will be included in the new government, continued el-Ganzouri, who said he hoped half his cabinet's ministers be from the youth but that experience is also required. Commenting on granting the authority of forming the government to parliament, he said only the Supreme Council of Armed Forces has authority to form the government.
