BRUSSELS, Belgium: High representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in the EU Catherine Ashton said Europe is ready to cooperate with the Islamic parties in the Middle East and Egypt. The EU is keen to launch ties with all political parties and individuals in North Africa, as long as they respect European values and standards. Ashton said, during a press conference after her meeting with the Arab League chief Nabil al- Arabi, Europe can cooperate with any person as long as they respect human rights, democracy and law. Ashton discussed the Egyptian elections, proposed sanctions against Syria and the region's Arab Spring with al- Arabi.
