Chairman of the General Institute for Agricultural development in the Ministry of Agriculture, Ali Ismail, assured there is a full inventory carried out on all agricultural lands, pointing out the institute prepared an initiative for young farmers. The initiative included distribution of land in Toshki and Sinai to the youths, farmers and poor families for reclamation. Ismail said the Ministry of Agriculture is committed to submit all services of reclamation, where the lands will be delivered by lottery through committees. He said the ministry allocated 50,000 acres of the General Institute for projects in different places in Sinai, Toshki, Qena, Beheira and Ismailia to distribute them on youths and private companies. Ismail said the companies wanted to get the land and submit a feasibility study. The allocated land will vary from 1,000 acres to 10,000 acres, where 5 percent will be paid to the General Institute for reclamation as a kind of insurance. An additional 25 percent of land are added to the value of the project and allocated to the Agricultural Development and Insurance Bank. Minister of Agriculture Salah Yousif agreed to the new rule to allocate 500,000 acres to land reclamation companies in North Sinai, New Valley, North Coast, Beni Suef, Meniya, Toshki, Qatara by auctioning them off. Ismail said the Institute of projects of Agricultural Reclamation and Development in the Ministry of Agriculture conditioned the companies should allocate 15 percent of the total land for graduates; each graduate should have 5 shares (5 acres) without owning the land.
