CAIRO: The Union of the Egyptian Revolution is creating a presidential council composed of nine members, including a representative of the armed forces and the heads of the youth coalitions, the Union today said in a statement. The statement also called for the formation of a Board of Governors, which would be elected through the council's Shura Council, as well as the formation of local councils of revolutionaries. “The presidential council will soon be announced and will be capable of running the country until the presidential elections,” the statement continued. General-Coordinator of the Union Mohamed Awad will be holding elections in Tahrir Square to form the presidential council parliament while at the same time the Egyptian parliamentary elections will be taking place.
