Egypt press reported Yousif el-Qaradawy statements about changing Egypt's ruling military council's performance without changing its chancellors. Minister of Justice Mohamed Abel Aziz el-Gendy denied assigning and forming a fact-finding committee about Tahrir Square's incidents. Al-Wasat Party revealed a schedule for the transfer of power, determined by the military council. Youm7: Constitutional law scholar Ibrahim Darwish said the military council's call for referendum for staying in power is considered a repercussion point to Egypt. He ensured the call for this referendum is unreasonable because it could be forged easily. He added the referendum is illegal and has no constitutional or legal base. He said the military council didn't take over power through a referendum to leave it through a referendum. There was no news about who will head the new government. Former Minister of Information Mansour Hassan said he heard about claims about his nomination but he assured there was no confirmation to this news. Some sources revealed potential presidential candidate Mohamed el-Baradei's name is not currently a likely option for Egyptian Prime Minister by the military council. Al-Ahram: Minister of Health Amr Helmy denied the use of nerve gases in dispersing demonstrators, since there are no symptoms indicating it use. Helmy was forced by demonstrators to leave Tahrir Square and cut his visit short. He escaped the large numbers of demonstrators who surrounded him. Some demonstrators tried to beat him but he was rescued. Helmy confirmed the use of live and rubber bullets on demonstrators. Al-Masry Al-Youm: Although three days passed since Egypt's ruling military council statement, Egyptian Minister of Justice Mohamed Abdel Aziz el-Gendy assured he wasn't assigned to form a fact-finding committee. El-Gendy added any reports released by the Forensic Medical Authority are sent to the public prosecution and never passed to the Ministry of Justice. Al-Akhbar: Yousif el-Qaradawy said he refuses dictatorship and he is against it, expressing his concern of the probability of the military council not transferring power but he trusts the members of the council to do so. El-Qaradawy called on carrying out immediate investigations concerning the Tahrir incidents, adding the military council had good chancellors but the council replaced them with bad ones who corrupted its ideology and policies. He said the council's performance was very good at the beginning of the revolution but it changed since. He added the free revolutionary youths should be trusted and he is not afraid for Egypt's future. He said the Islamic trend is the only prepared trend to rule Egypt. He called on Egyptians not to vote for former members of the dissolved National Democratic Party. El-Qaradawy called on the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) to be brave in running the elections, as he condemned accusing the MB, claiming they only aim for power. “You are going through a new experience and you have to change old methods,” he commented about the Salafis. He was annoyed of being compared to Imam Khomeeny. Al-Shorouq: Minister of Local Development Mohamed Attiyah from Sharaf's resigned government assured the government's resignation decision was made twice. The first one was refused and the second accepted by the military council. Attiyah added Tantawi told the ministers: “Each one of you should stay in place until the elections end peacefully.” Al-Gomhorreya: Head of Al-Wasat Party Abu el-Ela Mady revealed the schedule for the transitional phase. The schedule included the Shura Council elections will end on March 10 and there will be a meeting between both the People's Assembly and the Shura Council on March 27. The declaration to form the constituent committee to put forth the constitution will be on April 10, and the period for running in the presidential elections will start April 16 and end April 20. The deadline for writing the constitution will be on May 10 and for the referendum on May 30. The schedule also included the voting process in the presidential elections will start June 20 and the re-voting on June 27 in case if no candidate gets over 50 percent. On June 30, the elected president will scheduled to be sworn in.
