CAIRO: Egypt's ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SACF) called for an urgent dialogue between all national and political powers late Monday night. The dialogue will discuss the ongoing crisis in Tahrir Square and how to resolve the situation as quickly as possible to protect citizens' safety, according to the SCAF. In a statement, the SCAF asked all national and political powers as well as citizens to calm down and create a stable climate to continue the political process that will lead Egypt to democracy. SCAF expressed its regret for those killed and injured in the “painful incidents” of the last three days. It also offered condolences to the families of the victims who were killed in Tahrir and wished recovery for all those injured. The council ordered Egypt's security forces to take the necessary actions and measures to secure the demonstrators and to exercise restraint in the framework of the law. The SCAF highlighted its deep belief in the right to peaceful protest, which is the legitimate right of all citizens. The SCAF authorized the Egyptian Ministry of Justice to form a fact-finding committee to investigate the bloody clashes that have rocked the nation's capitol since Saturday morning. The committee will investigate to discover the real reasons behind killing and inuring the people and present the results to take all legal actions against those involved.
