Sharaf: elections to be held on schedule

The Egyptian Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, affirmed that the parliamentary elections would proceed on schedule Sunday, in a statement after an emergency meeting to discuss clashes in Tahrir that began Saturday.
The cabinet said that the clashes seek to abolish the parliamentary elections and prevent the establishment of the state's institutions.
