CAIRO: Two Egyptian civilians were wounded when military police forces forcefully dispersed the crowd gathered in Tahrir Square this morning. They removed the tents prepared by demonstrators for a sit-in and secured the square. Violent clashes took place between the protesters and the military police forces. Two protesters were wounded and three were arrested. Journalists and photographers were prohibited from entering the square. The military police forces also prevented protesters from videotaping or taking photos, assaulting anyone who attempted to take a photo of the incident. Nearby store owners closed their shops as a precaution against any possible thuggish or vandalism actions. Ambulances did not show up in the square to treat the wounded.
