CAIRO: Head of the Agriculture Export Council Sherif al-Beltagy announced the EU had lifted a ban imposed on the exporting of Egyptian green beans. Egyptian green beans were proved to be free of the E-Coli (Escherichia coli) bacteria clearing its removal from a six crop list, now reduced to five, banned from being imported from Egypt. The five remaining banned crops are peach, citrus, pomegranate, strawberry and peppers. These are now being re-examined. Beltagy said he called the EU stressing the necessity for cooperation and direct negotiations between the council and EU, as well as asking for an Egyptian delegation to attend a training course there.
