CAIRO: Chairman of Egypt's ruling military council Hussein Tantawi met with U.S. central command CENTCOM commander James Mattis on Tuesday November 15. The meeting included discussions of the latest development in territorial and international regions, cases with the common concern, the democratic shift in Egypt and the upcoming parliamentary elections in Egypt. Mattis praised the military council's role in allowing international organizations and NGOs to monitor the elections. Mattis also met with Egyptian chief of staff Sami Anan to discuss the means of promoting military cooperation and the exchanging experiences between both countries. Members of the military council and the American ambassador in Cairo Ann Paterson also attended the meeting.
