Egypt's Field Marshal and de-facto president, Hussein Tantawi, met with the US Chief of Central Command, General James Mattis, and an American delegation on Tuesday in Egypt. Each went through the latest updates on both regional and global levels, as well as the mutual interests between the US and Egypt. Egypt's current transitional period to democracy was also brought into discussion, along with the imminent parliamentary elections. The meeting was attended by several members of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) and the US ambassador to Egypt, Anne Patterson.
