The April 6 Youth Movement will participate in the Egyptian cabinet's next meeting, said the movement's spokesman Mahmoud Afifi. Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister Ali al-Selmy, Minister of Health Amr Hilmi, Minister of Tourism Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour and Minister of Culture Emad Abu Ghazy are all attending the meeting being held at the Opera house. Afifi said the movement prioritized the issues they wanted to discuss which included opposing al-Selmy's document of basic constitutional principles, policies of the transitional phase and the Maspiro clashes. Afifi confirmed the April 6 Youth Movement was not against the issuance of a basic constitutional principles document, however, it opposed al-Selmy's document. “April 6 will ask the Egyptian cabinet to approve Al-Azhar's document, instead of al-Selmy's because it got the general approval of all political, civilian and Islamic powers alongside the 2011 presidential candidates” said Afifi. Afifi also announced the movement's efforts to raise awareness of the parliamentary elections by having performances and plays in many squares as well as launching youth centers.
