Executive Director of sugar and integrated industries company Hussein Kamel said the factory which will produce jet fuel from sugar, will be established in 2012 near Kafr el-Sheikh's sugar factory. Kamel said the factory, with a capital of 1.3 billion EGP, would provide between 500-700 jobs. He also denied the factory's construction was delayed due to liquidity problems. Five other companies will share the factory's capital and they are: Delta for Sugar, Dakahlia for sugar, Nubariya for sugar, Fayoum for sugar, the company for sugar and integrated industries and the Holding Company for Petroleum Chemicals. In addition to jet fuel, the factory will also produce 50 tons of Ethanol from molasses. The factory will operate three main production lines for sugar in order to provide the amount needed to manufacture the jet fuel. The factory hopes to reduce the amount of imported jet fuel.
