CAIRO: The Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party broadcasted its televised electoral propaganda for upcoming elections without the Brotherhood's official slogan, “Islam is the answer.” Instead, the party used the slogan “We all love colors.” The advertisement lasted 35 seconds. It included a quick presentation of the party's principles and assured their respect for diversity and differences in the Egyptian society. The ad said the party's priorities are: Live in peace, high-quality education and job opportunities. The ad focused on linking between the party, which was founded after Egypt's January 25 Revolution, and the Muslim Brotherhood's history, which dates back to 1928. The FJP's decision not to use the Brotherhood's historic slogan – Islam is the solution – is noteworthy. The decision comes to bring the party in line with electoral rules, which forbids the use of religious slogans during campaigns and elections. Egypt's first post-revolution election is slated to begin November 28.
