GAZA: A delegation of leaders from the El Gehad Islamic Movement will visit Cairo after the Eid al-Adha holiday to discuss issues regarding Palestinian reconciliation, a Movement source today reported. The delegation will meet with Egyptian officials to discuss the particulars of the reconciliation, said Khodr Habib, a Gehad Movement leader. The parties will discuss the latest Israeli escalation in Gaza, which resulted in 12 Palestinian deaths, nine of which were from the Gehad Movement, Habib continued. Habib also thanked the Egyptians for their role in halting further Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip. Cairo will host various visits from Palestinian leaders in both Hamas and Fatah over the next few days, a Palestinian source reported. Each faction will meet separately with Egyptian officials. The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, which has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007, recently called for reconciliation between Palestinian factions.
