CAIRO: Judge Adel Moursy, head of Egypt's military judicial authority, denied today that Mina Daniel is included on the list of 11 defendants accused with inciting the deadly October 9 Maspiro clashes. Daniel was one of 27 killed when bloody clashes broke out between a Coptic Christian demonstration and military police forces outside Masprio, the headquarters of the Egyptian television and radio. Moursy said the claim by some activists and lawyers that Daniel's name is on the list is not true. "How do you investigate someone who has passed away?" asked Moursy, adding that the list of defendants includes well-known names. Earlier today, longtime activist Alaa Abdel Fattah was remanded into custody for 15 days for investigation by the military prosecution. He is accused of inciting the Maspiro violence.
