The Social Peace Party announced their withdrawal from the Democratic Alliance after accusing the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) of violating the agreement they had with members of the coalition. A statement by Hifzi Zayed, president of the party, said that FJP agreed with the members of the Democratic Alliance not exceed the extent of their participation of 35%, but their nominees have acquired 85% of the total seats in the coalition. The statement accused the FJP of placing their candidates at the forefront and the nominees from of the other parties in smaller districts. Zayed accused the Democratic Alliance of not committing to their agreements regarding the political isolation of former regime figures. The statement also accused the Muslim Brotherhood of not committing to the coalitions agreements, insisting on raising the slogan "Islam is the solution,” and not allowing other parties to express themselves in full.
