Al-Azhar institute released a statement expressing its opinion concerning the Arab springs and disrespecting the dead bodies. Grand Mufti Ahmed al-Tayeb pointed out in his statement about what happened with former Libyan President Muammar Gadhafi's corpse. The statement indicated many questions posed to Al-Azhar concerning violence practiced by authoritarian regimes towards Arab people, who have risen peacefully for freedom, dignity and social justice. The statement by Al-Azhar reminds all people by the Islamic concrete opinion, prohibiting the use of violence against peaceful uprisings. The statement also bans inhumane treatments to the wounded and bans disrespect to the dead bodies by not burying them.
